Die Äußerungen heute von BK Scholz zu einer möglichen Verhandlungslösung und einer späteren Aufnahme der Ukraine in die EU deuten in diese Richtung, abgesprochen mit Macron.

Erreicht wurde:

Zugunsten der USA eine Reduzierung des EU-Potentials als Konkurrenz, vor allem bei Deutschland, das verarmen wird. Amerikanischer Schutz wird auf Dauer gefragt sein. Eine mächtige, waffenstrotzende Ukraine als Schreckgespenst der Polen, etc. ist verhindert. Die USA müssen sich weniger Gedanken über das mögliche Ende für einen US-Präsidenten in einem großen Krieg machen.

Diese Überlegungen wurden qualifiziert besprochen, weil der „politische Wind für uns so zu stehen scheint“. Man sollte es in jedem Fall beobachten, auch das Schicksal von Odessa.

The day after 9 May has almost deflated the war in Ukraine. Embassies are returning to Kiev, there seems to be restrained fighting in the east. In short: phenomena that would be unthinkable without an agreement between Washington and Moscow.

Many things can be subsumed under this heading. To the fact that there are suddenly civilians again in the steelworks bunker in Mariupol who could be negotiated with. An occasion, so to speak.

The statements today by BK Scholz on a possible negotiated solution and a later admission of Ukraine into the EU point in this direction, agreed with Macron.

This was achieved:
In favour of the USA, a reduction of the EU's potential as a competitor, especially with Germany, which will become impoverished. American protection will be in demand in the long run. A powerful, gun-toting Ukraine as a spectre of the Poles, etc. has been prevented. The US will have to worry less about the possible end for a US president in a major war.

These considerations were discussed in a qualified manner because the "political wind seems to be in our favour". It should be watched in any case, including the fate of Odessa.
